Volunteer Opportunities at Grandview Christian Home

We have many opportunities for you to become involved in the lives of the people who live at Grandview. One hour a week or one hour a month DOES make a difference.

Call Sharon Crawford, Volunteer Services Coordinator, at (763)691-2140

Gift Shop Assistant

Volunteer in our Grand Olde Gift and Coffee Shoppe. Serve residents, staff, family and friends. The shop is open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and weekends as volunteers are available

GRANDVIEW
CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

135 FERN ST NORTH- CAMBRIDGE, MN 55008

Dear Friend,

Have you ever wanted something so much that you think about it all the time? You do everything you can to obtain it, and when you finally get it, the feeling of excitement is overwhelming.

This is a daily reality for many of our residents at Grandview Christian Home. These men and women have worked hard all of their lives to raise families and contribute to the quality of life that we enjoy today. But time has eroded their life savings, taken their loved ones, and left them with few people if anyone to turn to.

Imagine needing something as simple as a cup holder for your wheelchair or a dress so that you can attend church again. But no matter what you do, you will never be able to get it. You have no money, you can't get on the bus or drive and you have no family support. Something as simple as a new sweater is completely out of your reach.

Several years ago Grandview began raising money for just this kind of need, and because of the generosity of friend's like you, we are able to help many of those who have outlived their life's savings.

Recently we provided a private room to a resident who for years had only dreamed that she could ever have her own private space again. You can't imagine the look on her face when the social worker told her that she would be moving to her own room! (For more than ten years she had no option but to share a room smaller than most of todays master bedroom suites.) Just think, now she could stay up and read as late as she wants, or entertain guests without distrubing a roommate. To us, these may seem like simple desires that are easily met. But without the help of concerned friends like you, it is only a dream.

These simple dreams are humbling for all of us, expecially when you see the look on a residents' face when the dream comes true. You can help make dreams come true for our residents by making a financial contribution to Grandview's Benevolence Fund today.

Your gift of $10, $20 or $50.00 (even more if you can) will help insure that each of the men and women who live at Grandview will continue having their needs met, regardless of their ability to pay.

Thanks again for your friendship. We appreciate you and I know that God does too. God is using the special friends of Grandview to help make a difference in the lives of our residents!

Sincerely,

Greg Carlson
